Home Redecorating

I really love to scavenge antique and thrift stores, find old pieces with potential and "make them over". My latest piece is my our new dining room table! I am so excited, I finally have the french country kitchen I used to always drool over in my mother's Home Magazines ever since I was little. My home is under a subtle transformation. One day I will do a post on every room that I have thoroughly decorated. It will take a while, but Im excited about it!

Our country kitchen flooded by late afternoon summery light... heaven.

My favorite chair-- purchased for $12!

In this photo you can see the "crackle" effect my mother and I created! remember this project?! ;)

The best part of our home... are our pups of course!

And finally Brian protesting that I take too many photos (;0 NONSENSE!)

Christmas Card project!

Well now that everyone has received their Christmas cards, I can share them here with you all! Till the last minute I had resigned on doing Christmas cards this year, as I had been so busy with everything else. But then I got really inspired and decided to go for it.

I hand made each card like so:

bought sweet little alphabet stamps-- in typewriter font

I incorporated this "Celebrate" stamp, as I loved the "stitching" character of it.

I added a vintage charm as an inviting "gift" to open. Each card had a different charm; people received vintage keys, perfume, a dove, a hand mirror and more!

I wrapped the closed card in red string to add a touch of the most festive Christmas color, red.

I also added a dried rose in the tiny bag to reinforce the festive red.

Finally I created simple labels for each printed on rustic beige paper and, woila' they were ready to send off!

Halloween Brownies

Here are a few photos from my spooky brownies from this past Halloween. I meant to share these much earlier, but hopefully they can inspire someone for next year :)

Step by step:

1 Make Green Frosting

2 Cover Marsh mellows with colored frosting

3 Make Brownie Bites

4 "Glue" Frankenstein Marsh mellow heads to each brownie with a dollop of frosting!

5 Serve in festive plate with m&m's & enjoy!
